Well, Cristian Secară is my name, also called Secărică by my friends. I’m living in Romania (Eastern Europe, Earth, ...), Bucharest being my home town.

I started this life some time ago, in August 1961 if I remember well.
I have a few hobbies, like electronics, computers, mountain, photography, speology, ski, drinking coffee, ...

My job has always been around television studios, mostly outside broadcast events. I am the owner of a tiny company, Magic Fox Media srl, dealing with its television system integration section.
Anyway, technical stuff, technical activities.

Off duty I am passionate about software localization and internationalization related issues. I elaborated the 2004 version of the Romanian computer keyboard standard and defined the technical details of a Romanian law which enforce the use of the correct language character set in some public areas.
I also initiated a petition aimed at the indifference with which the EU treats the lack of respect for cultural and linguistic diversity of their member states by the standards governing the SMS text messages in mobile technology. More details related to this issue can be followed here.

I like progressive rock & (some) industrial music, like Judas Priest, Nine Inch Nails (especially the Broken -> Further Down the Spiral era), Tool & Puscifer, Ministry.
Other musical preferences: Camel, Can, Gentle Giant, King Crimson & Robert Fripp, Van Der Graaf Generator & Peter Hammill, (some) Prodigy, Chemical Brothers.
Also Genesis (especially the Peter Gabriel era) and Jethro Tull. However, the music evolution does not stop there, so my musical preference list does not stop here ...

My wife and I like to travel all around the country and outside:
me - searching for exciting wild places; she - searching for peaceful places (hoping she will never get face to face with the Carpathian Brown Bear).

In recent years our trips have been extended in Austria (Innsbruck, Wien, Salzburg), Swiss (Weggis, Luzern), France (Chamonix) and Italy (various places), all by car until now.
More trips are still to come (hopefully ...)

We also have two dogs, hers is a little Teckel (Rex) and mine is a German Shepherd (Rubiliță).

In 2002 I have experienced a bizarre feeling and a light leg injury, during a bungee_jump.

The top crane arm height was at 58m. The jump line consisted of 10 m elastic cord, with an addition of approximately 4m static cord.
